June is celebrated as “Pride Month” across the world to mark the anniversary of the Stonewall riots in 1969. The protests and voices for equal rights for the LGBTQ+ community that followed resulted in legal changes in many constitutions around the world including India.
To know what is the environment inside the workplaces, ETHRWorld interacted with several industry leaders about how they are ensuring a friendly and inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ employees, what challenges are still prevailing and how they ensure that the employees bring their whole self to work.
Speaking about the importance of diversity and inclusion at the workplace, Shilpa Sinha Harsh, Senior Vice President – Global Corporate Communications, CSR and D&I, Hinduja Global Solutions (HGS), said, “In a workplace where success seems attainable for everyone, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, or sexual orientation, employees are encouraged to bring their best selves to work.”
